I think it’s absolutely terrible and ridiculous how the Tory press are attacking the new Labour government over every little thing that they can find to attack them on. Compared with the last fourteen years l think it’s refreshing to have a grown up government who are trying very hard, yes with mistakes, to sort out the mess that the other lot left behind!!

Very tired
September 21st, 2024 | Deirdre | Diary
I’m very tired this morning and decided to give in to it so I haven’t been up long. Don’t feel as bad as yesterday so hopefully it’ll pass soon. But the whole thing is definitely worth having and much better than having Shingles.
To go back

I was supposed to have my ring pessary which holds my uterus in place replaced at the same appointment as my Shingles jab but although they had ordered one for me in my size on the 5th August it hadn’t come in and on checking the Spares box there wasn’t one in there neither. So I will just have to go back.
Shingles jab
September 20th, 2024 | Deirdre | Diary
I had my second and final non live Shingles jab yesterday afternoon and I feel absolutely terrible and my left arm is very very sore. What a sorry state I am in. I have put my bath and hair wash on hold until I feel better. I think it lasted two or three days last time but it is definitely worth it for what it helps me avoid and unlike the real thing it’s not contagious. I think modern medicine is wonderful!!
The window cleaner

I didn’t sleep a few nights ago so I have been over sleeping ever since. I only just made it downstairs for the window cleaner.
Truly humbled

There was a professor on the News Channel just now who, with his team, had completed a 14 hour operation to successfully separate twins who were conjoined at the head. Such a special human is this – l feel truly humbled.
Thought I was tired
September 17th, 2024 | Deirdre | Diary
I thought I was tired when I went to bed but got up around 1.00 am when I hadn’t managed to get to sleep. I spent the night downstairs watching television programmes l had mostly recorded late at night which I wouldn’t have watched. Already had breakfast and now watching early morning Sky News.
No idea!!
September 16th, 2024 | Deirdre | Diary
When I woke up this morning, after going to the loo, I went around my bed to discover the pillow that had been under my head was on the floor right around the other side of the bedroom. How on earth it got over there l have no idea !
My dear son
September 15th, 2024 | Deirdre | Diary
My dear son and his partner came for a visit yesterday. As usual there were roadworks and caravans etc which delayed their arrival but they finally got here. It was really nice to see them and we ordered in for lunch. Seeing them is one of the few things that raises my spirits these days.
Many women died
September 14th, 2024 | Deirdre | Diary
Abortions have taken place throughout history. The only difference is it used to be done in secret because it was deemed illegal and many women died. So some stupid people would have us go back to that. I know that l certainly wouldn’t.
