I am expecting a parcel which is ‘out for delivery’ already so I am up and dressed but not really awake yet.

Assisted dying
February 26th, 2025 | Deirdre | Diary
I have been listening to the arguments on assisted dying and the opponents of the bill always say that we need better palliative care instead. But I really believe that both choices should be on offer so that we all have the right to make our own decisions on the end of our lives if we need to.
Probably unhappy
February 25th, 2025 | Deirdre | Diary
I watched President Macron talking with Donald Trump yesterday. I am trying to remain optimistic but my gut reaction is that we can no longer trust USA to have our backs. Although I am aware that a lot of Americans are probably unhappy with the situation – the leadership seems only interested in themselves!
Next four years
February 24th, 2025 | Deirdre | Diary
When will President Macron and Sir Keir Starmer’s visit to the White House bring to us all in Europe. Probably nothing but you can never tell. Goodness knows what the next four years will bring!
Such a luxury
February 23rd, 2025 | Deirdre | Diary
I just woke up in time to get my breakfast and back upstairs to watch Trevor Phillips on the television at 8.30. When I was in the psychiatric hospitals I could never have imagined me having such a luxury as breakfast in bed in front of the television.
Oh dear!

It really is a mess politically all over the world. The far right getting into power, with so many people backing them. Have they really not learned from the past? They don’t seem to have. It’s so important that those of us who can see it try to do their best to speak up. Although this can be frightening… l can, at least, write it down on here. And now USA. Oh dear!
Quite busy
February 22nd, 2025 | Deirdre | Diary
I have been quite busy for a Saturday as l have been expecting some deliveries including my repeat prescription which is quite a large delivery from the pharmacy which keeps me ticking over. Hopefully I am not waiting in vain.
A bit rotten
February 21st, 2025 | Deirdre | Diary
I bought some new wine glasses and decided to have some wine in one last night. I hadn’t realised how big they were. I ended up having two glasses and I really feel a bit rotten this morning. I won’t do that again.
Another four years
February 20th, 2025 | Deirdre | Diary
When I woke up last night l heard a certain demented American politician giving another speech in front of an audience of billionaires. The depth of misinformation never fails to astound me and for America to change sides is a new one throughout their history. Surely we can’t endure another four years of this.
Couple of hours
February 20th, 2025 | Deirdre | Diary
I’m sat on my bed wide awake after a couple of hours in slumberland. Plans to get dressed and head downstairs or bringing breakfast in bed upstairs a little later are possibilities. Maybe I will just try to get back to sleep first.
