This was a man

I received the “Bank security…” scam message on my phone this morning. This was a man, not the usual woman’s voice, so it threw me a little but I just hung up as usual.

Busy morning

I have had a busy morning. Already a guy from my personal alarm company came. He changed my push button wrist alarm over to a pendant for me. And then C came. He took a letter to post for me. As he drives for a living I tried to give him a fiver but he wouldn’t take more than £2.50.

Things to do

Oh dear. Only just got up. Things to do, people coming. Oh dear!

Cut right back

I couldn’t sleep with stuff on my mind so I came downstairs and spent two hours doing my household sums and realised that I had better cut right back on everything that I have been spending and then went into my grocery order and again I cut right back on a lot of stuff that I don’t need and shouldn’t have anyway. So I will just have to persevere with this for the foreseeable future.

Earlier than usual

It’s 10.45 and I have just woken up. Trying to get on with the day but I am so tired. I didn’t fall asleep until late and I had some wine but nothing too excessive. My friend E had been here which was lovely but we each had a glass of wine with a bowl of Nutella ice cream each – which is absolutely delicious – so I started earlier than usual.

Not only

Not only has the Parliament shut for the Summer but all the political programmes have gone on holiday too. So l am having my breakfast in bed but my usual pleasure of watching Trevor Phillips on Sky News is denied me until September and all the other political programmes l usually record until later have also gone.

Lots to do!

So I didn’t wake up until late but managed to force myself up around 11.15. Now I have caught up with my Saturday morning chores and well fed and watered. I need to tidy up a bit and sort out my next grocery order and will then be able to make a start on my two editions of the New Statesman which I have just started getting again. Lots to do!

A fair bit

I have been up and dressed for nearly three hours now and planning to have an early bath and breakfast. I’m hoping that I can find someone who would be happy to take my watch into the City Centre and get a new battery fitted for me. Something l can no longer do myself but it will probably cost a fair bit.
