I have just had a bath and washed my hair. It’s amazing how different one feels after that – refreshed! I have things to do this morning including eating some blackberries which I think are my favourite fruit at the moment!

I still have a very busy week ahead. I don’t know why I am so busy lately. Just seems like a lot to do!

I couldn’t get to sleep so I have given up trying and have come back downstairs. My mind is very busy at the moment which is okay so long as I’m not trying to get to sleep.

There are still many workers out on strike and the government are dragging their heels and trying to look tough. Not the time for it! We need our doctors, nurses and teachers etc back at work. These people are invaluable and should be treated as such.

I am a Labour supporter but must say that I don’t like the current nasty ads they are bringing out, we are better than that. It’s the sort of thing that the Tories do and we must not bring ourselves down to their level!

I had my second counselling session and I think it is going to be really helpful. Some of the things that are coming out of it have really taken me aback and I have found that I am very tired afterwards.

I dipped in and out of President Biden’s time in Ireland on Sky News and especially his welcome and address in the Irish Parliament which l found very moving. I am really glad l watched it.

So I phoned the opticians because I had been having what I thought were floaters and they wanted to check my eyes straight away. They were very thorough and put drops in my eyes, they did pressures, did a scan and photos of the backs of my eyes and very carefully examined my eyes. Retinas are fine – that’s a relief.

I have completely overslept and people coming soon.

So I was really tired when I went to bed but then my mind started buzzing and I was busy thinking. Four hours later I realised that I wasn’t going to sleep and I came downstairs and watched television until now. It will soon be time for breakfast.
