I have been feeling cold so I turned the heating up to 20.5 but bought a new room thermometer which arrived last night. It’s cold in here this morning – the radiators are cold and the thermometer says 19.9. I will keep watch and see how it plays out.

I have heard that King Charles has been told that he must not attend the COP 27 meeting on climate change. I hope he still goes. I don’t know what authority the Prime Minister has over the monarch.

The government has done a U turn. They have decided not to go ahead with their tax cut for the wealthy. Absolutely the right thing to do.

After taking advice I turned my heating down yesterday and I don’t feel too cold so I will turn it down further today. It is very scary having the heating on even when you have a lung condition.

So the energy companies are having to put their charges up again. Really scary especially with the cold weather. With my COPD and asthma I am supposed to keep the temperature in the house at 21 degrees but feel I should turn the heating off.

It is about time they did away with faith schools. Children should be able to go to their nearest school without being discriminated against on the grounds of religion. Not that I would want a child to go to a school which indoctrinated them with superstition. It’s about time the state stopped funding such schools.

The new Prime Minister and her cabinet are making a right mess of the country’s finances either by making the mess or backing it.

I have had to put my heating on. With COPD and asthma I am supposed to keep my dwelling at 21 degrees. When it gets cold it is very difficult to breathe and I don’t go out unless I have to.

I heard the speech by the Shadow Chancellor at the Labour Party Conference yesterday. It was absolutely excellent. Very encouraging!

I woke up this morning in the middle of a dream about finances and Xmas. I was trying to work out which month I should buy whatever. Oh dear!
