Well I have been feeling pretty rotten today. From first thing this morning when I had great difficulty getting up until I realised I had things to do downstairs. But I have managed to get through the day and now I am looking forward to going back to bed after some television. I’m expecting to feel back to normal in the morning.

Flu jab
October 2nd, 2025 | Deirdre | Diary
This morning I had my annual flu jab. My friend C who is a volunteer driver took me and I was back home pretty quickly. My arm is now starting to hurt and I am feeling a little grotty but I know it won’t last long. Modern medicine is a wonderful thing and I’m very glad to be alive today.
Really bad idea
October 1st, 2025 | Deirdre | Diary
Anyone thinking of voting for Reform should look at what a mess Trump is making in USA, think of the Brexit problem and realise what a really bad idea it is to back Reform.
Too old
September 30th, 2025 | Deirdre | Diary
I woke up late having slept well and had to rush as expecting an early delivery. Then the rest of the day I have just felt wrecked. Everything has felt okay but I am getting too old to cope with lack of sleep! I have visitors coming early in the morning. I will say that even though the right wing media like to criticise our Labour Prime Minister – l thought his speech at the Labour Party Conference went really well. So they just seem to need to promote Reform and its leaders which makes me very sad.
Haven’t slept
September 29th, 2025 | Deirdre | Diary
So I haven’t slept and think I will sort out my breakfast soon. Perhaps an early bath and hair wash too. It’s just gone 5.00 so I won’t wait much longer.
Might have more luck
September 29th, 2025 | Deirdre | Diary
I was in bed for over two hours when I decided I might have more luck sleeping in the armchair than in my bed. So I’m up and dressed with Sky News on the television and a New Statesman to be read. Maybe I’ll feel sleepy a bit later.
My regular ones
September 28th, 2025 | Deirdre | Diary
Well I have managed to fetch my breakfast and eaten my peach Activia live yoghurt. They seem to have stopped putting my regular ones into favourites when I shop so I don’t have such a choice of flavours as before. Really annoying! But I am nice and early before my favourite programmes start on the television.
One hundred years
September 28th, 2025 | Deirdre | Diary
How is it that Reform with their 4 or 5 MPs are on television so much more often than the Lib Dem’s with their 70 odd MPs. Yes l know Reform are having weekly news conferences but if they weren’t on television so often then the population wouldn’t be getting so used to them. Our history of the past one hundred years with the World wars should remind us!
Sad!
September 27th, 2025 | Deirdre | Diary
It’s over two thousand years since the Romans invaded this country, they liked to be in charge then and they are still doing it now. There are still many people that look to Rome to find out what to do and they still have control of the minds of many poor souls. But there’s lots of us who question the beliefs which many have without question. It’s all very sad!
A rotten shame
September 26th, 2025 | Deirdre | Diary
It’s a rotten shame that the English/British flags fill so many of us with dread and not the respect and love that l would wish for them. That is, unfortunately, because it is seen as a symbol of the far right. And I think perhaps l am just too old to see it differently!
