Couldn’t settle

My groceries came early this week and, after I had put them away, my hips were really hurting and I couldn’t settle in bed last night with the pain and discomfort so I managed to get to sleep downstairs in the armchair. Having gone back to bed around 2.30 l did manage to get to sleep eventually.

What heaven is

That first mug of coffee in the mornings – that’s what heaven is – that first sip. Especially on a Sunday when I am having it in bed. Those spells in psychiatric hospital l thought of this, being home again and that it might happen if I just hold on. And now I am in a good place. Happy Xmas everyone!

Brilliant!!

My dear friends gave me some Camembert but it made my fridge smell like rotting cabbage. Someone wiser than me suggested I put it in an airtight container. It did take a little climbing to achieve that but it seemed perfectly safe to only climb six inches to the first step on my little steps to reach one. Success!! Brilliant!!

Out for dinner

Two friends took me out for dinner yesterday as a Xmas treat. We went to Zaks and I had a delicious burger followed by a chocolate honeycomb ice cream sundae. The food was good and it was really nice to see them.

Scam text

I received that scam text about the delivery driver who couldn’t deliver a parcel to me supposedly from Evri which seemed even more wicked because it’s Xmas somehow. I have also just received several calls from the Indian claiming to be BT – he used to say he was Virgin Media and it is usually a call about my computer he says. At the moment he is hanging up when he hears my voice.

Oh dear!

I had to go down and unlock the back gate again this morning and I was so anxious that I might slip again that my legs were all wobbly. Oh dear!

Over half an hour

I have spent over half an hour trying to figure out how to do something on the updated package on my television. I can’t work it out so I will ask any visitors if they have any ideas.

My fall

I have just realised that I haven’t actually written about what happened to me after the window cleaner was here early on Thursday. I went outside the back door and was heading down at the side of the house towards the path to lock the back gate again when my feet slipped from under me and I was down… I knew nobody knew l was there and I was completely alone and I couldn’t get up. What am I to do? I crawled to the side of the house but still couldn’t get up so I had to crawl in the wet all the way to the dining room window sill where I managed to pull myself up. The first thing I did was lock the back gate. Then I came in and messaged my neighbour who very kindly came and made me a cup of tea. I was wobbly on my feet all day and hurt all over especially my sore knee. But all through this l didn’t think about the personal alarm with push button on my wrist… ugh!!

Take a while

My dear friend A came to visit and exchange Xmas gifts. I hadn’t seen her for what seems like ages but we ended up spending the afternoon updating my television with the new remote which I had been sent. There’s no way I could have done it by myself and afterwards she wrote down everything I need to know about using it. It’s going to take a while getting used to it.
