I am doing my grocery delivery at the front door on my own today as my wonderful cleaner/helper/friend can’t come. She is having close contact with someone with Covid and is still mindful not to give it to me if she can. It’s really kind and thoughtful of her.

I hope everyone had a happy Xmas. I spent most of the day by myself but don’t mind that. And last night I slept for a few hours and then woke up in the early hours – I hadn’t considered being up so early on Boxing Day but there you are! Not a bad few days.

I have been very angry with the clergy for spreading their stuff but I am starting to think that some of them actually believe what they are preaching. What an awful mess. They are guilty of spreading it though so they shouldn’t be let off that easily.

My son and his partner came to visit on Thursday and they really helped me whilst they were here including cooking me a yummy dinner. My son sorted me out with a new email address which I am now getting used to. They were really helpful and it was really nice to see them. Not a good time to be informing people of a new email address just before Xmas though.

I saw my Mum’s feet when she took her shoes off at the hospital. Her feet were disfigured. The Consultant told me it was completely due to the shoes she had worn throughout her adult life. This disfigurement is called a bunion. I was shocked! A bunion is something people joke about. I thought it was like a blister or corn or something similar. Why do people joke about this? It is on a par with tight corsets or foot binding in the past. Time something was done about it!

I do love Xmas. I am not a Christian and don’t believe any of the stuff but I enjoy all the things that go with it. The sending of cards, giving of presents, seeing people and the turkey dinner. I don’t feel guilty as there has been a festival at this time of year long before the Christians hijacked it.

It doesn’t seem like two minutes ago when we were just after Xmas last time and on the other hand it seems like a very long time ago. The concept of time is certainly different now that I am older!

I do feel for everyone who is homeless during the winter especially around Xmas. I am so thankful to be home in the warmth. I really hope that the Tories don’t remain in power much longer.

The Romans always did like to have control over other people. Their church still has too much control over too many people for my liking. It is true that many of us have broken free but so many others are left behind!

I am already upstairs having breakfast in bed as I am expecting a delivery and wanted to do both. I won’t dilly dally this morning!
