I picked up my new glasses yesterday. My dear friend S took me into the City Centre and it was nice to have the company for a change especially when I was in the opticians. I am usually on my own. Although I am quite often driven by my friend C so I suppose I am spoiled.
Awful!

It’s crippling to see the leader of the free world coming out with nonsense and attacking other leaders. Four years of this… awful!
If they were in power
Wed 21st May, at 08:03 am | Deirdre | Diary
It really annoys me when Tory MPs keep announcing what they would do if they were in power and criticising the government. No apologies for the state that they left everything in. They seem to have forgotten that they were in power for fourteen years and did nothing to help us then. So l really don’t want to listen to them now. And we haven’t forgotten that the Reform Party destroyed our relationship with Europe. We are putting it back together now but really don’t think they should get time on our televisions neither!
Nobel Peace Prize
Tue 20th May, at 09:37 am | Deirdre | Diary
We all know that Trump is just after the Nobel Peace Prize but he could do some good if he felt like it but there’s quite a worry of what he might be getting up to whilst he’s in a position of power but that’s just the case whoever it happened to be.
Very large coffee
Mon 19th May, at 04:38 am | Deirdre | Diary
I have been awake since 2.45 and after quite a while I came downstairs. Just had a bath and washed my hair. I am just tucking into a very large coffee whilst I wait for my double sausage and egg McMuffin to arrive. A moment of weakness had taken over and the next minute I had ordered a breakfast takeaway which will be delivered. What a treat!
Trevor Phillips
Sun 18th May, at 06:43 am | Deirdre | Diary
Trevor Phillips is on television an hour earlier than usual because the Pope is being crowned. I got up early to fetch my breakfast and aware that I will have to find alternative viewing in a little while.
You know who you are!

Can we trust the people not to vote for Nigel Farage – l would love to think we can but they voted for Boris and for Brexit so No, I don’t think we can just trust them. You know who you are! But we have time so we must use it.
Just in time
Sat 17th May, at 09:07 am | Deirdre | Diary
I was really very tired when I woke up and had to force myself to stir, go to the loo and come downstairs. I had just fetched my breakfast when the postman (I was expecting a delivery) came to the door. I was up just in time.
Assisted dying bill
Fri 16th May, at 06:36 am | Deirdre | Diary
Apparently the assisted dying bill is back in the House of Commons today for debate. I can understand that some others don’t approve but I feel that they should not decide what l should be allowed to choose. There are those who believe that their opinion is more valid than mine.
Quite exciting!
Thu 15th May, at 08:19 am | Deirdre | Diary
I went to the optician and l needed new glasses. They’re such an expensive item these days but perhaps they always were. Although I know I could go somewhere cheaper but I get such good care at the family business that I have been going to. Getting new glasses is quite exciting!
