Still taking the tablets…

Being a pest

I am trying to weigh up between being a pest and being a helpful neighbour. When somebody new moves in do l tell them it’s dustbin day or do l leave well alone and let them find out for themselves. Not quite sure!

Jack

I have been awake for about an hour – had a bath and had my breakfast already. I have been reflecting on my visit to John and Zoe’s new house yesterday (John gave me a lift) and I am thinking of trying to get hold of my brother Jack in Australia on Skype in a minute. That usually takes a little time and effort in order to get hold of him.

Sir David Attenborough

Sir David Attenborough was on the BBC morning programme yesterday talking about the decline in butterflies and how different types are being seen further and further north. He also talked about his meeting with Barack Obama who he said was very interested to talk about global warming. Sir David is a wonderful man!

MPs pay rise

So MPs are getting a ten percent pay rise. Many are saying they will give it to charity obviously because it looks so bad at this time of austerity. The Prime Minister didn’t say the same!

Zoe and John

Zoe and John returned the dining chairs they had borrowed and came for the frozen food they had left in my freezer and then they were gone. I heard noise coming from next door and was aware it was the new person. I had been hearing Zoe and Co for ten years. Zoe phoned and said could she pop in –  the one thing she had forgotten!

Last night

Zoe and John and the children Norah and Tom from next door came in and we ordered in pizza. It was their last night in this house as they are moving on today. I will miss them!

Georgian Town House

Hilary took me to the ‘Georgian Town House’ which is just past the City Centre where we met John and Barbara from the Craft group. It is a cross between a pub and a restaurant and we sat outside. It was nice to be somewhere new and I liked it enough to consider going again.

A detailed dream

I am so tired. You would think that now that I have retired l would get enough sleep but I tend to get up as soon as I wake during the week. This morning I was in the middle of a very detailed dream (which l immediately forgot) so I didn’t want to wake up but I am up and fed now and about to start my week. Phew!

Bumble bees

I am hearing again that bumble bees are in danger of being wiped out by global warming. That perhaps if we move them north or higher up we might have a chance of saving them. They are so important in the propagation of our crops what on earth would we do without them!

Jesse Stone

I have been watching the Jesse Stone series with Tom Selleck on channel five on Friday afternoons. I have no idea how many times l have seen them but they are so good that I have watched them every time they have been on. Excellent!
