My weight management programme wanted me to set some goals so I aimed to do 1000 steps yesterday. I really didn’t think I could do it but, in the end, I managed to do 1034… not a lot for most people but for me… I usually do 300-400.

A gin and tonic

My friend came to see me and we shared lunch and had a gin and tonic. Then we tried to fit two signs outside on the brickwork which kept falling off. Oh well… I will leave it to the professionals!
Early enough

Managed to get up early enough to eat my breakfast in bed before Trevor Phillips’ programme starts on Sky News. I am in good spirits as l have lost a bit of weight.
Quite exhausted

I had such a busy week – I was quite exhausted. Very tired this morning but not much happening today – I will try to read my New Statesman which I usually do on a Saturday.
Repeating itself

It’s a shame that in the 21st century the human race still feels the need to go to war. It’s a shame we can’t live side by side peacefully instead of offending one’s neighbours to sometimes terrible extremes. History repeating itself.

Friend and helper

I received a message from my friend and helper who is coming today. Her son has tested Covid positive and she was wondering if l would still like her to come. She has tested negative so I have said yes. She will mask up and maybe l will too.
It’s cold

Ooh it’s cold. I stayed up tonight as I need to be doing stuff in the early hours. I tried to nap on the sofa but that didn’t work so I will just rest for a bit but it has turned very cold.
Parking Scratch cards

I went to buy some more parking scratch cards from my Council over the phone. You can only order them online apparently. They called it progress. I couldn’t follow the private company’s website. So I had help luckily. Turns out we have ordered 20 all dated last Saturday. What a nuisance. I will phone them soon.
