Quite a biggish job on the roof which they can’t do until we have a rain free time. He said that it won’t cost more than £800 but he couldn’t give me an exact figure. Why do these things always happen when you are skint.

My builder is coming out sometime today to investigate the leak in my ceiling. Hopefully it will be something little.

When I got upstairs last night there was rain coming in the bathroom ceiling. Well a fast drip drip drip which was noisy so I put a jug with a large pair of old socks to muffle the sound. Fortunately it didn’t rain all night although it still was when I fell asleep around 1.00 am.

Today will be the coronation of King Charles lll. I will have it on the television all day today and I am quite interested to see it all although, if they start talking gibberish, as they always do at these sorts of things, l may not be able to watch much of it.

So I woke up awhile ago and the local elections were on the television. They are of interest to me so I got up, pulled some clothes on and came downstairs to watch it on the big TV. I hope l don’t disturb anyone but when I have asked my neighbours have confirmed that they never hear me!

I saw the report on Fentanyl on Sky News last night – really terrible! People dying and overdosing all over the place – really awful!

I picked up my new glasses yesterday. They are the same frames as before only black instead of blue. I think l quite like them.

I watched an excellent film called The Wife which I had recorded but, unfortunately, the BBC had been running late and the end was missing. My sister very kindly guided me through installing BBC iPlayer on my tablet so I was able to watch it. Really brilliant!

I have a sore throat and a bit of a cold this morning. I will do a COVID test in a little while.

It is hardly surprising that the NHS staff went out on strike and that so many are still out on strike. It is time that the government stopped playing games and sorted it out.
