I bought a winter coat yesterday. I really shouldn’t have with the cost of living as it is. I won’t put the heating on even though it is cold in here even though I am supposed to keep the temperature at 21 degrees although I will be able to wear my new winter coat.
Just lying
Fri 23rd Sep, at 08:35 am | Deirdre | Diary
It looks like it might be the beginning of the end in Russia. Men leaving in droves to avoid the draft. And Russia going to do referenda across parts of Ukraine which will, of course, be in favour of joining Russia. And Russia just lying at the UN security council meeting. Dreadful!
Just rest
Thu 22nd Sep, at 08:40 am | Deirdre | Diary
I have been up for well over an hour and somehow can’t wake up. Perhaps I should just rest this morning.
Flu jab
Wed 21st Sep, at 08:00 am | Deirdre | Diary
I had my flu jab yesterday. As usual my left arm hurts but that should pass really soon. Well worth it.
Restricted
Tue 20th Sep, at 08:26 am | Deirdre | Diary
I haven’t done my Qigong class for several days now nor gone for my short walk with my rollator. How often I can go out will be restricted by the cold weather and my COPD and asthma.
The Queen’s funeral
Mon 19th Sep, at 09:09 am | Deirdre | Diary
It is the Queen’s funeral today followed by a journey to Windsor Castle where she will be laid to rest next to her husband and parents.
In and out
Sun 18th Sep, at 09:22 am | Deirdre | Diary
It is the Queen’s funeral all day tomorrow. I don’t usually watch religious programmes but I will try to watch most of it although I will probably end up dipping in and out of it as I have all week.
Going back up
Sat 17th Sep, at 09:30 am | Deirdre | Diary
I was losing weight… very slowly… but it was coming off… but the last few weeks it had been going back up… well I didn’t know until this morning that I have put back on 2 kg of the 4 kg that I had lost. Not good.
National mourning
Fri 16th Sep, at 09:23 am | Deirdre | Diary
I am watching the people in the queue which is over 5 miles long to see the Queen’s coffin which is lying in state. It is taking them 9-11 hours to reach Westminster Hall. This is a strange week of national mourning.
Into the bath
Thu 15th Sep, at 09:12 am | Deirdre | Diary
I was getting into the bath earlier and there was less water in it than usual and my right foot slipped on the wet bath floor and I nearly fell into the bath head first. I just managed to catch myself. I am amazed that I don’t have any bruises so far.
