My cat is costing me a fortune. She has been very poorly and her future is going to be discussed today but I mustn’t let finances come into it.
1%
Sun 7th Mar, at 10:20 am | Deirdre | Diary
The offer to NHS staff of 1% is pretty awful after all that they have been put through. But the Tories are in power and I don’t expect any better from them. But Boris needs to be liked so we will wait and see!
Not too good
Sat 6th Mar, at 10:15 am | Deirdre | Diary
Things are not looking too good for Lily. She is managing to get to the litter tray at the moment but that is the only good thing about it.
My surgery
Fri 5th Mar, at 09:03 am | Deirdre | Diary
My surgery phoned yesterday. They asked me loads of questions like how much do I weigh and do I smoke and have a dentist. I am glad they were updating their records.
Lily

Lily’s bowel habits are still unpredictable so I suppose I will just have to be patient before I think one thing or another.
The census
Wed 3rd Mar, at 09:13 am | Deirdre | Diary
Apparently when we fill out the census forms this year we should tick ‘no religion ‘ if that is the case. Many people tick the religion they were brought up in, baptised in or have a cultural association with even if they have no religious beliefs. This poses a huge problem when it comes to things like opening another faith school.
Kidney damage
Tue 2nd Mar, at 10:09 am | Deirdre | Diary
So we went to the vets. Lily has been put on steroid tablets. If they work then they will also damage her kidneys which are diseased already. If the steroids don’t work then we will be having a difficult discussion.
Steroids
Mon 1st Mar, at 08:57 am | Deirdre | Diary
I woke up at 6.20 with Lily doing her messy thing in the litter tray and on the floor. Then she threw up. Then back to the litter tray. The vet said she would put her on steroids as a last resort. I will wait and see.
Myanmar
Sun 28th Feb, at 10:47 am | Deirdre | Diary
Myanmar police shot dead at least four protesters and wounded many others as they crack down on protesters in towns and cities. Police would not comment.
Complete madness
Sat 27th Feb, at 10:28 am | Deirdre | Diary
Most of the conflicts in the world have been and continue to be on the grounds of religion. People are programmed from an early age with whatever religion it happens to be and they in turn teach it to their offspring. This programming is quite thorough and very hard to shake off. Complete madness!
