Still taking the tablets…

To a certain extent

Things seem to be going back to normal to a certain extent. I have rung the local council to ask about grants for loft insulation. They will phone back – hopefully.

Bank Holiday

As it’s a bank holiday I can have breakfast in bed. Well it’s just yoghurt and coffee followed by some fruit. Lily is miaowing a lot but nobody told her it’s a holiday!

My goodness

Oh my goodness. I know I have had a busy week but I have completely overslept this morning. I had better just get on with the day!

Instruction manuals

My friend came over yesterday evening and he helped by getting my new microwave out of all the packaging. Why are Instruction manuals written in a different language. Gobbledygook. It took ages before we worked out how to use it. Well, I didn’t.

I will wait

I was hoping to be up early enough to have a bath and wash my hair this morning but my microwave should be delivered today so I will wait for that first.

Thank goodness!

I have been up with a gripey tummy since 3.20 but only needed Imodium since 7.30. I knew I had some more of them somewhere and I would have put them somewhere safe when I tidied up but it took me a good ten minutes before I found them. Thank goodness!

The microwave

Why is it when you spend some money and are aware you need to be careful then some household item dies – with me it is the microwave. What a nuisance!

A large spider

If I am honest, I am scared of spiders but I usually wait for them to move on. This morning there is a large one near an electric socket which is going to be used tomorrow by my friend who is terrified of them. I might have to use the spider catcher and put it out but that is terrifying.

Songs of Empire

The BBC are considering making a change this year to the last night of the proms. Songs of Empire are inappropriate these days and they are thinking of dropping Land of Hope and Glory and Rule Britannia.

Superstitious nonsense

In this day and age it is somewhat annoying when another faith school opens – especially when it is state funded. At a time when 52% of the people are non religious, education and religion should be kept apart. If you want to teach your children superstitious nonsense – I can’t stop you but to teach it as fact in a school is something else! Time to evolve!
