Still taking the tablets…

My birthday

It was my birthday yesterday which started off with Lynne singing “happy birthday” and then everybody else doing likewise. I went – with the other members of the craft group to Café Britannia for lunch (which is run by the prisoners at Norwich prison) and then we came back for a slice of the cake that Hilary made. And then Zoe and the children came bearing gifts. An all together lovely birthday.

Mixed feelings

I wonder how people in Britain would feel if it was decided, along with America and others, to actually take on Isis if that is on the cards. There would probably be mixed feelings.

A short trip

I wanted to go to the cash machine and pick up a couple of things from the shop so I set off. The weather was hot and it took quite a time to get there. It was very hard to see the screen with the sun and fingerprints and then the return journey was even slower (it is uphill) and I had real difficulty catching my breath. I was very glad when I made it home.

Cats

When I was out trying to deliver a parcel l bumped into one of my neighbours who asked me to feed her cats for a couple of days. I did wonder what she would do if I said “no” but to be quite honest I really don’t mind and I like cats!

Parcels

I took in three parcels from the postman for neighbours who were out yesterday. Two of them were collected early but I had to wait up for the third. I always get fed up waiting so go and knock on the person’s door but by the time l finally delivered it l had drank a couple of glasses of red wine (my weekends start on Thursdays) so I was a bit wobbly on my feet. Oh dear!

Psycho Pussies

Psycho Pussies: When Cats Attack on channel five last night showed very aggressive cats and one wonders what they have gone through to become like that. My cats never attack me but l don’t see them as ‘just cats’ to manhandle – they have their own personalities and feelings just like we do.

Walking sticks

It was my sister Erin’s 60th birthday yesterday and she said she loved her presents. I had to stay in and wait for deliveries. In the morning I had two grocery deliveries and in the afternoon I had a pair of walking sticks delivered as I discovered my old one was too big for me. Much better!

Sheringham

My friend Lynne took me out in celebration of my upcoming birthday. We went to Sheringham where I bought a shopping trolley and some ice creams. I dropped mine and the seller kindly gave me another. We saw the sea and some lovely horses and a steam train and then we went for a cream tea on the way home. I had a lovely time!

Craft group

The Craft group from the Community centre came for a cuppa. It is quite a small group and we could no longer afford to keep it running so we are taking it in turns to visit each others’ homes whilst we wait to see if we can have a cheaper/smaller room.

Our nurses

I am hearing all sorts of frightening things on the News. I have been living in dread ever since the Tories got into power on their own. The latest is that any foreign nurses who have been here more than six years and are not earning more than £35,000 (which most of them aren’t) will have to leave the country. Help!
