Still taking the tablets…

My mobile

My son quite often used to tell me my hearing was impaired. I was finding it difficult to hear my mobile so I asked him how to turn the sound up. Turns out it was on vibrate. Ha ha. Then when I tried to turn it up it shot up to 10 really quickly. So then it was going clunk clunk when I went to send a message so he told me how to turn it down. Phew.

Genocide

I watched a television programme on BBC 2 in the early hours of this morning. It was all about the widespread rape and slaughter of Germans immediately after the second world war. Pretty harrowing stuff!

Sorry for myself

I am feeling a little sorry for myself – l have had a bit of a cough for the last few weeks and I hope it’s nothing important – l will just have to wait and see. And then there is my flipping knee – my bursitis is bothering me again just when I thought I had got over it. Never mind!

Ladies’ day

I am so ignorant – what does Ladies’ day at Ascot mean? Is it the only day ladies are allowed in? – surely not – the only day they can wear a hat? No idea – whatever it is it’s bound to be ridiculous!

Respiratory review

I went for my annual respiratory review yesterday. They no longer do a full lung function test but they weigh you, do your blood pressure, check your oxygen levels and make you do a big breath into their gadget which showed, with my first breath 64 percent and my second 86 percent which is quite good.

Craft group

I went to the last Craft group for now. There are only a few of us that go and it is too expensive to run. We are hoping to get a cheaper room to carry on and, in the meantime, we are going to take it in turn going to each other’s houses.

Catnip and cat mint

Well I knew the cats didn’t go up on the kitchen window sill but I thought with the catnip and cat mint being there that they would – but no – so I moved the cat mint (the bigger of the two) to the dining room window sill. I left it there for some time and they took no notice so last night I moved it to my bedroom window. They have both now investigated it but neither has taken a bite. It’s quite funny!

Communications

I tried to reach my brother on Skype – he lives in Australia with his family. I didn’t have much luck but I did get hold of my sister Erin who was away in a play in Basingstoke. We had a very good chat and then my sister Fiona phoned from Galway. And then my sister Andrea phoned  – she lives in the Midlands. What a day!

Paranoia

I became in quite a state yesterday – l had been trying to get hold of a close new friend and she wasn’t replying to any of my messages. She is usually very quick to get back to me and I ended up worrying which of the things l had said or done had upset her. This went on for 36 hours or so. Of course the truth was she was away without her phone. I was so pleased when she got in touch.

Up and down

I had my final counselling session and I had just got home when my dear friend “E” popped in. We had a cuppa and my son phoned. Then, a little later, it was my friend “B” – a very strange day – up and down – because I was unsuccessful at getting hold of another friend which made me very sad.
