Still taking the tablets…

I managed to walk

Yesterday I managed to walk to the community centre where I did some colouring in. It seemed so strange to be there without Hilary who was unable to come. I then walked all the way to the cash machine and popped into the shop for bits and pieces and then made it back – all without having to get a cab. I was so pleased!

Solar-powered plane

There was a very interesting item on the News this morning – a solar-powered plane which was hoping to circumnavigate the world which, unfortunately, has had to turn back due to bad weather over the pacific and will have to land in Japan rather than Hawaii. What a shame although it is the longest time in the air ever. Hopefully they will be able to continue on when the weather improves!

Norwich castle

My son and his partner came to visit. We went to Norwich castle which is very different from the last time I visited and then we had a picnic. We walked quite a long way so I don’t think I will be able to go out for quite a bit.

Molly miaowing

I have had an hour or two asleep but the rest of the time I have been listening to the television if not actually watching it. I was just dozing off again when my cat Molly started miaowing downstairs. So I had to go down and try to shush her. If I am still awake in an hour l will have an early bath and wash my hair.

Another tall story

It was Pentecost Sunday last weekend. I couldn’t remember from my Catholic days what that meant which shows how far l have come. Apparently, it is about the disciples getting the gift of speaking in tongues. Exactly what it is supposed to mean l don’t remember but I believe they are all supposed to be able to speak in a mutual spiritual language which they didn’t know. Another tall story!

Visit at the weekend

My cleaner came yesterday to do her usual fortnightly stint and now the house and garden look really neat and tidy for my son’s visit at the weekend. That is just the way it has panned out this time which I am very pleased about.

Such a difference!

I spent the day getting myself back together and then, in the evening, Janet the gardener came. I can’t do much myself anymore and she does a wonderful job and the gardens look lovely when she has finished. Such a difference!

Went for a drive

I had eaten lunch then had a bath and washed my hair and was sitting in the living room when Lynne knocked on the door. She came in for a cuppa and then offered to take me for a drive in the country. We headed north and then east and then an hour later we came back into Norwich. It was a good time to go for a drive!

Craft fayre

I went to the community centre for two reasons – firstly they were having a craft fayre and secondly they were doing a ‘bacon roll and a cup of tea’ which turned out to be only £2.00. It was good to get out on a Sunday but I still didn’t stay for long. My neighbour Zoe accompanied me on the walk home which was really nice. I will miss her when she moves.

Staying up

So I finished the bottle of wine and then had one of those little bottles. I got quite tiddly but really enjoyed it. It meant that rather than hiding upstairs from 5.00 pm l sat downstairs watching the television and having a drink until I came upstairs at about 8.00 pm which is late for me!
