From watching the News this morning I gather that there are even more boat people in a really bad way hoping to find home somewhere which again reminds me how lucky we are! Apparently our Navy is told that they can rescue them but to take them back where they came from.

Another earthquake in Nepal – those poor people – we are so lucky being born and living here. I remember my Mother reassuring us when we were little that most of the natural disasters don’t usually happen here. We are so lucky!

My friend Hilary popped in for a cuppa and we had a spot of lunch which was really nice. And then when it got to evening my very good friends and neighbours Zoe and John told me they are moving on but not going too far away and then their children will have a room each. I will miss them.

Hilary gave me a lift to the community centre where I did some colouring in. It was nice to be there as I haven’t been anywhere sociable for a bit and it’s nice to chat to other people. It is good to have new friends!

My cat Molly has taken to miaowing downstairs in the middle of the night. I have tried telling her off and shushing her which sometimes works. In the end l was so awake l watched some television and then at 4.00 l had a bath and washed my hair. An hour later l was having breakfast and sorting out my medication for the day… An early start!

I finally sat up in bed this morning, l brought my breakfast up to bed in time for Andrew Marr on the TV. He has done the Sunday papers in which Tony Blair has apparently told the Labour party to go back to centre ground if they want to win. Things seem to be going from bad to worse – who are these bloody people who voted Tory?

I am trying to be patient but my knee is a tiny bit better so I am tempted to try to walk to the corner shop. I know that would be stupid and probably put me back weeks and my neighbours have offered so I must just be patient – a few more weeks it might be a whole lot better!

They were saying all night that the Conservatives were predicted to win the general election although Labour were leading all night. The Tory’s overtook this morning and the thought of another five years with them fills me with dread!

I always feel much better when I have ordered my groceries online and got it over with. And then the day it is delivered and my meals from Wiltshire Farm Foods have been delivered l feel set up for a bit.

My knee is so painful – with bursitis and arthritis. I have been told it might take six weeks to settle down but whether that means I will then be pain free and able to walk about without a walking stick l don’t know. I would like to be able to walk to the corner shop at least. I don’t think that is too much to ask!
