Transport plus (a volunteer car service) took me to the hospital where I had an ultrasound on my hand. Turns out it is a ganglion cyst. I need to find someone who is willing to bash it with a bible for me – or a dictionary – or even Richard Dawkins’ ‘The God Delusion’. Hopefully that will do the trick!
Ugh!
Fri 24th Apr, at 08:06 am | Deirdre | Diary
There was an item on ‘Breakfast’ about ticks both before and after they have gorged themselves. Ugh! Gives me the creeps. The ‘spot on’ treatment l give my cats covers them for ticks and I have never actually ever seen one but I have always lived in an urban area.
A Labour government
Thu 23rd Apr, at 08:21 am | Deirdre | Diary
I really like Ed Miliband and keep my fingers crossed that he will be the next prime minister. I didn’t like new labour and hope an up and coming labour government will be further to the left than the last one.
Daft
Wed 22nd Apr, at 08:05 am | Deirdre | Diary
Why do so many women wear shoes that hurt their feet? They think they make them look sexy (l know as I wore them) so perhaps they should save them for the bedroom. I was watching politicians on the television and it was serious stuff but I could see they were distracted by their feet which they were resting one at a time. Daft!
The God
Tue 21st Apr, at 05:39 am | Deirdre | Diary
I watched ‘The Big Questions’ as usual at the weekend. There is usually healthy debate between people of faith and atheists. I was watching it and they were talking ‘gobbledygook’. So many of them talking about ‘the God’ which I really can’t get my head around. I like the comment l heard some time ago that people who believe in God are ‘intellectually lazy’. So true!
I overslept
Mon 20th Apr, at 09:22 am | Deirdre | Diary
I overslept this morning which I don’t like to do. I don’t have anything important to do today so it’s not too bad but I just don’t like it. I waited up for Question Time to be repeated last night but it was on much later than usual and then I slept through much of it. Got to rub in my gel and put my knee support on which might make my leg feel a bit better. Oh well!
Going gaga
Sun 19th Apr, at 09:27 am | Deirdre | Diary
My new friend Hilary popped in for tea and then very kindly went into the City for me to get a knee support and deep freeze cold gel. Both seem to be helping but my cats are going gaga over the gel – l don’t know if it’s the menthol – but if you have ever seen a cat with catnip – it is the same.
I hobbled
Sat 18th Apr, at 06:27 am | Deirdre | Diary
I hobbled (with the help of a cab) to the doctor’s and she said my painful knee was a ligament injury and possible arthritis and could take 6 weeks to mend at which she might send me for an xray. She also said to take paracetamol – so I will continue hobbling.
Worth the wait
Fri 17th Apr, at 08:30 am | Deirdre | Diary
I have been waiting for Art Therapy magazine to arrive. My son very kindly took out a subscription for me and I received issue one some time ago. I have been looking out for the next one for some time and rang them on Wednesday. They said issues two and three went out on the 4th and it takes 14 days to get here. Goodness knows where they are coming from. Anyway they arrived along with the goodies that comes with them – worth the wait!
My right knee
Thu 16th Apr, at 07:51 am | Deirdre | Diary
I have a really bad right knee – it is very painful especially when I attempt to walk. Ever since I sat for all those hours waiting to get urine samples from my two cats. I have had a couple of days when I thought it had passed and I put it down to exercise and ibuprofen gel but it is back – and even worse. Oh well!
