A good friend took me to Cromer yesterday. It was a lovely sunny day and we had the most delicious fish and chips which was very hot and fresh and I had a very large glass of red wine. She wheeled me in a wheelchair to the pier where we had a yummy chocolate ice cream cone. There was a slight hiccup when one of the tyres came off but she soon had it fixed and after a cup of coffee we headed home. A really lovely day – one to be remembered.
Freedom of speech

We are so lucky to live in the West where we have such freedoms compared with other parts of the world. You could think that freedom of speech is a basic right but we should treasure it – for so many parts of the world that is not the case and people are imprisoned or far worse for speaking out.

Joe Biden

Joe Biden was, as far as I know, an excellent and very likeable President of the USA. But, unfortunately, his day has gone so l was very relieved when he stood down yesterday. It’s looking like he will be replaced by Kamala Harris but we will have to wait and see what happens.

I don’t seem to be able to get my sleep pattern into a sensible routine. Sense doesn’t seem to come into it. But hopefully I will work it out sometime soon.
This time tonight

It seems that my time of sleeping through the night has been interrupted tonight. I knew that I needed to be up early today so I went upstairs last night a little earlier than the past week or so. After three hours in bed trying to nod off I decided to come downstairs and watch some television. I am not so sure that I will get any sleep this time tonight.
