Still taking the tablets…

A nice day

I woke up really early this morning and watched ‘The Supervet’ on the television. I am thinking about the lovely day yesterday when my son and his partner came to visit. They brought me a chocolate egg which I will probably open later. We went for lunch at Zak’s on Mousehold Heath and I ate so much l creaked and that was without dessert. My son has a new job and was preoccupied with the decision of what car he would like as a Company car – what a decision!

The Easter story

It surprises me really that so many people still believe that Jesus came back from the dead and ascended into the sky. Nowadays people would ask where was he headed for – the moon? And didn’t he need an oxygen mask? If they get past the fact that he was flying. Very strange!

World recession

I watched the lTV Leaders’ Debate last night. It does annoy me when the Tories and Liberals accuse the Labour party of causing the recession even though everyone knows the bankers’ caused a world recession. Unfortunately a lot of people will forget that and believe them.

No good at waiting

Of course, l realised this morning that now that the clocks have gone forward an hour we are all trying to get up an hour earlier so we all feel really tired. This morning I have a dilemma. I have an important letter l want to post before the Easter holiday and I am expecting a parcel. The courier says they will email me this morning with a one hour slot but that hasn’t happened yet. Do l dash down to the post office on the corner or wait until I have heard from them. I am not very good at waiting.

Joni

This morning I awoke to hear from my son that Joni Mitchell is in hospital – l am a fan so wish her well. I am still tired because yesterday I received a phone call from the vets to hear that Lily’s urine sample which they were sending away for more tests was destroyed so could l get them another – ugh! Well I managed to get that 5 hours later but it meant sitting upstairs on my bed on watch again. Phew!

The vets

I had to struggle to get up this morning. I wanted to have a bath and to wash my hair and it took all my strength to do that. Sunday night I managed to get 4 hours sleep although I was on cat watch but as I was the only one awake l decided to catch a few hours. Mary took us all to the vets and as I didn’t have a urine sample for Molly the vet passed a fine needle into her full bladder and drew some off. They are both okay but Lily might have too much protein in her urine so a sample has gone off for testing. Anyway, l am so tired l am catching up today.

Urine samples

I spent much of yesterday and last night trying to get a urine sample from my two cats. It is possible thanks to little polystyrene beads which don’t absorb liquid. Lily gave me one relatively early but I am still trying to get one from Molly. It means sitting on my bed watching the bathroom door so I see who goes in and then going in to check. So far Lily is winning. Ugh!

British Summer Time

I woke up very late this morning – British Summer Time – l fell asleep fairly early last night. Then I woke up very late and decided to put all my clocks forward. I started in the kitchen with the microwave and the oven and finished in the bedroom and the top of the stairs. My neighbours didn’t seem to be there so I wasn’t worried about the noise of putting the clocks back. Of course, this morning, l don’t know where I am!

Heavy food

Difficulty in getting up seems to happen most mornings these days. I am waiting for a delivery of cat food to arrive today so needed to get up for it. Lily has a bladder disease so has a prescription food and Molly has trouble with her teeth so has a food designed for that. The box will be very heavy though so it is important that I am up for it.

Hopeless

I completely overslept this morning, waking just before 9.00. I had tried to stay awake last night to watch the Ed Miliband – David Cameron live programme. I saw the David Cameron bit but completely fell asleep before Ed Miliband – waking only at the end of it. I watched the first 20 minutes of Question Time and then fell asleep. Hopeless!
