I ordered a Sunday roast. Lids not on the gravy pots. Everything floating in gravy. Very disappointing.

Makes my day!
May 23rd, 2026 | Deirdre | Diary
My dear son gave me a call earlier. It always makes my day!
Really awful!
May 22nd, 2026 | Deirdre | Diary
I watched an episode of the series about the Tower of London this afternoon. One of the things it told me was that there were thousands of people who used to go and watch the many people who were executed there. Heads chopped off and stuff. Really awful! I knew these things went on but not the quantity of people who went to watch.

Had a long ish conversation with my GP. My body needs quite a few things to be done at the moment but everything is to be arranged looking forward. Now I must be getting on with my day.

Publicise it all!
May 18th, 2026 | Deirdre | Diary
The situation currently in the Labour Party is really a bit of a mess. I am quite happy with Sir Keir Starmer even though he is further to the right from me. There’s a lot of stuff going on which we don’t know about like youth clubs across the country. Maybe it’s time to publicise it all!
Creature of habit
May 17th, 2026 | Deirdre | Diary
I usually treat myself to some strawberries first thing on a Sunday whilst watching Trevor Phillips on Sky News. Soon I will watch last week’s episodes of EastEnders which I don’t manage to see during the week. I really am a creature of habit.

So I couldn’t sleep last night and ended up coming downstairs around 3.00 l think. Have been watching programmes that I had recorded on the television and just had my breakfast. Time to open the curtains soon.
The leadership
May 15th, 2026 | Deirdre | Diary
I have a keen interest in what is happening to the leadership in the Labour Party. My favourite MP these days is Emily Thornberry. She would make a great PM – perhaps she wouldn’t like to. Oh well!
To tell the truth
May 14th, 2026 | Deirdre | Diary
Throughout my life I’ve tried my best to tell the truth. Some people might not like what I say but it comes from the truth as l know it. Some people can make up complete stories without any trouble with their consciences – I wonder! I have been watching a programme called Rogue Claimers each evening and it is incredible. People telling complete stories trying to defraud Insurance companies, really serious lies, it’s beyond my comprehension how they do it.
